season 2 finale, definitely. those last twenty minutes, man. that last shot. UNFAIR AND UNCOOL and also fucking perfect. beckett kind of happily resigned to the fact that she does, in fact love this idiot. the expression on stana katic’s fucking face in almost every scene after that conversation with espo. she’s just silently, solemnly admitting it to herself, and it’s beautiful to watch. and castle, oh god castle, has already given up. from the moment she says she and demming are together, he backed off, and so he has no reason to hope, or to suspect, or anything, and godddd it’s the first time they have a real shot and then epically, tragically fuck it up and god. it’s the first time it hurt to watch them love each other and we all know that that’s the definitive sign of an otp so there that is. 

my thoughts:

these two assholes are ruining my life with how perfect they are and how much they love each other and they should just bone or at least hold hands or something because the tension and the longing and the faces they make in each other’s general direction are bad for my fucking health. 

What makes me happy about them:

everything oh god. fandom has said everything that needs to be said about 100x more eloquently than i ever could so i’ll just say ‘everything that’s already been said’ and be done with it. 

What makes me sad about them:

the fact that they have faced death together approximately seventeen trillion times and have not had that ‘hey we could have died today we should admit our love and get married probably’ conversation. also the fact that at this moment in their narrative, they both love each other so much that they refuse to be together in order to protect the other person from emotional or physical harm. like what is that STOP IT YOUR PERFECTION IS UNTOWARD.
